I just redid mine and used a factory VDC Off button from a Nissan Xterra. I wanted it to look factory. Since it’s a momentary switch, I had to wire up a locking relay to hold the position while either on or off. It’s a bit messy at the moment, but wanted to prove the concept before I buttoned it all up.

Looking pretty Factory to me !

The Z for me is my Fun car so balls to the walls for going a little nuts on what the inside look like

Can someone please answer this for me.Does applying a switch to the yaw sensor and turning it off have the EXACT same effect as pushing the traction control button off button on the far left part of the dash?

No. The dash button does not turn everything off.

Traction control button only turns off traction control. VDC/YAW detects the vehicle losing control (spinning out, fishtail, etc) and uses the ABS system to try and correct the spin. With the YAW sensor on, it interferes with the car being able to drift.

Thanks guys,I find that my car launches harder with the dash traction control button pressed(traction control off).Will the yaw sensor switch give me even more power on the launch?I am just referring to traction out of the hole,not stability once the car gets moving.In other words,will the yaw switch allow better burnouts over the dash traction control switch.Sorry if this has been asked before,couldn’t find an answer and have always been curious.

I don't think it will but it's been a long time since I read up on it. There are several threads that discuss the issue* and a functional description (plus wiring diagrams, etc) is in the FSM.

Where did you get the relay from? I think this is the route I want to take to keep an OEM look.

I did the same as you, but instead of adding a relay I modify the inside of the switch. Also, Since I have heated seat, I was able to make it light up with the dash.

I use a switch from a Nissan Guest 2004.

Interesting idea with the Xterra/Guest VDC off switch. I want to go this route to keep the factory look too.

But just a thought - I don't see why you would need to pair this switch with a locking relay or modify the switch in any way.

If the yaw sensor gets disconnected, its stays off until the car is restarted. Unless I'm missing something it seems like a momentary switch cutting power to the yaw sensor for a second would have the same effect as a true on/off switch

I was wrong- The VDC switch i used from a 2010 G37S is a Normally Off switch whereas it needs to be a Normally On switch. You need to modify the switch like the users above

Can you explain what you did to modify the switch? It's difficult to tell from the pictures and I'd like to do the same.
