GM Synchromesh

So I'm toying with the idea of using GM Synchromesh to do a transmission oil change as I did on my Acura TL back in 2005. Honda recommended of course to use their brand but friends from the TL Forum I belonged tried the GM oil as I did and the shifting was smooth like medicated cotton. I saw on the DIY forums that most of you that have done this use the Nissan brand as well, also I read that the transmission fluid is lifetime on the Z and shouldn't be changed...any thought thanks, BTW I have 32k on my '13 Z and like I said have been wanting to do this for a while...

No lubricant that I know of is lifetime. They all get dirty and they all breakdown after a while.
Personally, 50k-60k miles is the most I would put on modern xmission fluid before changing. YMMV.

No idea about whether GMSM is OK in 370Z xmissions.

you need to change your MT tranny fluid around 50 - 60K or earlier if you want.

I know I was worried when I did my TL with an American product but the results were short of awesome on how smooth the shifting turned out afterwards...both are Japanese transmissions and I'm pretty sure that they don't try any product made in the USA but I may be the guinea pig since I don't see what can go wrong ...any master mechanic or anyone with expertise in the subject please feel free to comment and pardon my ignorance

If they both accept a similar type of fluid I say go for it and let us know how it goes.

The key word is friction modifier, I been thinking about adding some to the transmission fluid to try and make it work easier, I changed to the ML fluid, it helps but not 100%. Ford sells a friction modifier for their rear axle with posi traction to help reduce noise in the traction lock plates. Its a couple of ounce bottle. But it works.

The GM oil is friction modified....and you think is comparable or better the the OEM oil?...

BMW motorcycles had a "lifetime" no change gear/rear end oil for awhile..didn't even have a drain/fill plug... it bit them in the *** after 30K

The research continues and found out that the GM fluid is 75w90 and we use 75w85. Other sites have comments on this issue and those who took the chance are happier as the shifting is smooth er..also the 75w85 is not available in stores and is very expensive vs the other brands....
