in my experience the switch is not reliable in temps below 50 degrees. it will stay on if you hold it down but as soon as you let it go it will click back off. i found out it interior of my car needed to be warmed up for almost an hour before the switch would work. a faster way was to manually hold the switch down for 10-15 minutes and toggling it a couple times in between before it would stay on.

Anyone know if any changes in 14 or 15 other than changing from black to red (which I suppose is progress)? I usually tend JDM but the ricer in me is kinda tickled by the EVO-R "F1" blinking feature.
Happy the NISMO didn't lose us anything else from JDM it look like other than perhaps the option of the video recorder. lol. |

The f1 style is nice. The only problem is that if 1 led goes out the whole fog light is shot and need to replace the whole thing. On the other hand if you do the oem fog light and retro fit the bulb and something burns out you just replace the bulb. If you like the blinking red that’s cool but you can make the oem one shine red when you break, turn on with the tail lights and or use a switch. Should be straight forward on your year. Don’t blame you though the fl style would look pretty badass with the new nismo/oem kit.

Amazon.com: iJDMTOY® JDM Style Rear Fog Light LED Assembly For 2009-up Nissan 370Z (Integrated Rear Fog Light, Brake Light, Backup Light Features): Automotive I just ordered this rear fog light and will let ya know how it comes out. i've had this diy fog light on my previous z but i wasn't a fan of the switch. its nice and went with my heated seat switches but it wouldn't work in the cold for me.

So I checked on my 2010 today and i can see the wiring harness tucked up there next to the empty housing. So my question is, my plan was to modify the empty housing and make the Z shaped illumination. But now that I can see that the wiring is already present. Should I purchase the OEM one and simply plug it in?
The last time I pulled out my center console I didn't notice a wiring harness there for the other end of the switch, but I'm assuming that since I can see the other end of the harness next to the empty housing that the wiring must also be present up in the center console? Anyone have any insight into this issue? KBC |

Question for tapping power to light
Hey everyone,
I know I'm kind of reviving this thread from the dead LOL. AK wanted to say thank you for the write up on this, the fog light and new LEDs all around as well as upgraded HID headlights are my next mod for my Z. The question I have for everyone is has anyone tried wiring this to the illumination wire that goes to the head unit? Meaning the same wire that tells an aftermarket HU to dim the screen for night time because the headlights are on. The reason I ask is California has a law in the vehicle code that says rear fog lights cannot be used unless the headlights are on. I would prefer wiring it that way just so that it functions 100% legally, but obviously if it doesn't want to work properly I will just tap into the accessory power wire. Wanted to hear anyone's thoughts on that. Thanks! |

I figured as much LOL. I guess my question is if the fog light has worked with being spliced to the the illumination wire instead of just the accessory power wire.
