Run power to rear-view-mirror / Radar Detector install.
1 Attachment(s)
Hi DIY folks,
Has anyone run a power line up to the rear-view mirror? If so, did you have to remove the front pillar garnish, as outlined on page INT-18 (INT.pdf) of the Nissan 370z Service Repair Manual? Attachment 115823 It appears Clip 2 is expected to break ( X = Always replace after every disassembly), and would require a replacement to re-attach the cover. So ... Hoping I can benefit from someone's prior experience, and ideally avoid removing the pillar garnish. Can you run the wire and tuck it securely without having to take off the trim piece(s)? Thanks! |

Madwi,
Thanks for the quick and detailed response. I feel roughly 99% better after tackling the trim piece. :D  |

Good timing. I need to run my aftermarket Bluetooth up there one of these days. Should probably pull wire for a mirror while I'm at it too.

With bicycle reflectors from Canadian Tire, and Zinc Mending Brackets from Home Depot ...
Attachment 115921 ... I was able to mount my Radar Detector to the rear-view mirror post. Attachment 115923 Attachment 115924 This is heaps better than the crappy suction mount the unit came with. Thanks again for the assistance with running a wire! |
