DIY: SpawnAero CF B-Pillars
Hey everybody,
Here is the long over due DIY for the CF B-pillars from SpawnAero. Enjoy the pictures and videos! Step 1: Remove the OEM B-pillars try not to break the brackets on the back Step 2: Put all the tabs into their places Step 3: Apply strips of 3M double sided tape to the back of the clips (3 strips for the top clip and 4 strips for the bottom 2 clips) Step 4: Align and place the CF B-Pillars ontop of the clips (press down onto the clips) Step 5: Slowly remove the CF B-Pillar from the door to the back (make sure all the 3M tape stay on the CF B-Pillar) Step 6: Remove the clips and place them on the CF B-Pillars Step 7: Apply the Super glue around the base of the clips and cover the 3M all the way to the CF backing (make sure to have a good bead of glue on the CF backing) Step 8: Let it dry for about 5-10 minutes Step 9: Plug them in Step 10: Your Done go Drink a Beer! Great install DIY, I finally received mine and hopefully will be installing this week. Question, looks like you have rubber stripping on the top and one side of the CF piece. Did this come off the OEM piece or something that you added.
Thanks mAc |

It is OEM when you pull your stock B-Pillars off you will see them. I lost one of the top ones so I went to the auto store and bought some black duct tape. I folded it in half and taped and trimmed it so that only 3-4mm showed. When the B-Pillar is in place you cant even tell
if you have any questions on the install feel free to ask

Thanks for the DIY. Couple questions:
1) Are the stock B pillars trash once you take them off? IE, do those tabs break off the stock B pillars or is there a bracket that they seat into? I suppose a little more info on how to remove the stock B pillars is all I need 2) You use the 3M tape on the car to transfer it to the correct spot on the new CF B pillars. When you pull the grommets off the car to put back on the tape to glue, how did you line things up again? It seems easy to put them back on the tape slightly off-center and then final B pillar mounting will be misaligned. I'll try another look through the videos in the mean time.

Spear I applied the tape extremely light to the clips when I went to align the CF B-Pillar... Once I got that aligned I pressed the B-Pillars somewhat firmly but not too much and peeled the B-pillar like in the video. when that happened the tape stuck to the B-Pillar and not the clip leaving me accurate placement to glue the clips to.
In regards to stock removal... the Stock pieces have built it plastic pieces that allow the clips to lock into. However the openings point toward each other only allowing you to pull the B-Pillar out to remove it. I recommend getting a screw driver *BE CAREFUL* and as you begin to pull the B-Pillar work the clips out. Take your time cause the brackets on the back of the B-Pillars are cheap and will break easily. I hope that helps

You might want to try using double back tape and attaching to the stock units. Tried the suggested way and it never really worked out worth a darn. And when you break the stock units they are about $70.00 per side!! Maybe Spawn could make them thinner so they would lay down better with tape. Why replace the stock unit with the chance for a poor fit. The double back tape thing was an issue as listed above. I ended taking mine off as they just didnt fit well enough to match the car.Anyone want them? PM me.

Left side turned out perfect. The right side has a tad bit of lift on the top left corner. I'll post pics as soon as I remedy the situation. Might take a few days. I'm a busy man.

I had the same issues and was not happy with the fit and finish. They didnt fit tight and the tape and glue tended to let go and lift a bit. Good luck, but you might consider just a double back tape to attach them to the stock units. Not near as easy as made out! Good luck, like to see how yours work out.
