I'd be very cautious of solvents if you haven't had experience with them before. It can be very easy to eat through your clear coat without the right reduction or application methods. If you go the solvent route, try it first on an inconspicuous area to see how it reacts with clear coat.

gray? did you go too deep through your clear coat? hope you didnt use a terry cloth or some cotton towel to apply. it generates heat and some times burns right through the clear if you press hard enough with virtually any polish.

No, only where the white paint was, looks like the person door paint went through the paint, so if you look at the picture where the white paint is, just imagine only the white paint part, gray.

Look into the v32 product by the chemical guys, the 4 oz sample pack is more then enough. it removed three scuffs, two off the door one on the mirror and cleared up my yellowing headlights. Couldn't be more satisfied with the product, however, I have no experience with paint.
