Waxes 101: Types of Waxes & Their Uses

What do ya'll think about electric buffers? I've been considering getting one because they're pretty cheap, but I don't want to damage my car if it ends up being bad.

I wouldn't rely on electronic buffers. I used one on my old 98 civic and it left a ton of swirl marks. I found it better to just polish, or buff my cars by hand than to use a machine. BTW the Maguiar's or Mother's claybar system works flawlessly. Though you're gonna take FOREVER to do the whole car but its well worth the effort. Afterwards apply the wax of your choice, I normally apply three coats of wax. Can never be too careful

Pinnacle souveran is great all around wax for any color and has a long lasting protection. for he money though poorboys red or blue is the heat ($20). DoDo juice is also a great wax, pricey but good and have many options for specific vehicle color and use (hard or soft)

If your looking for one of the best, yes Do Do Juice. I'd highly recomend it for your PG Z, its great on the darker colors like that and have had great success with the "hard" series here. you can try all four series or only one for 13 bucks... Electric buffers are great. For a beginner buy a Porter Cable 7424 XP. its a dual action and very hard for anyone to burn/hurt your paint. Its great for swirl removal, and applying sealants. Wax I prefer to always do by hand with a Lake City foam pad or actually with my hands. look at these web sites for further information Detailed Image - Premium Auto Detailing Supplies AutoGeek.com Automotive Super Site their affiliated forums have more information then you can think of and have many high end detailers to help you out.

Should there be any problems using the NXT 2.0 on my sport rims? I hear now days the rims are clear coated. Anyone know?

Yes, you can use NXT on your rims. And yes they are clear coated. I would recommend using a wheel sealant instead of paint sealant. It will give you a little more durable protection. Look on sites like Autogeek.com or properautocare.com for the wheel sealant. These sites are great as you can buy a lot better products for you Z than at a local store.

Not a favorite of mine, especially when you consider price.
