Interior Cleaning Tips

I used armorall wipes once and hate them. How do you guys go about cleaning the interior, black interior is such a pain in the butt to keep clean looking!

Review the thread I posted. I think you'll find it informative.

Hello sir... if
I remember correctly you need to use the cleaning wipes.
Then glass cleaner wipes.
The protectant wipes are only for the hard dash surfaces as protection from uv rays fading and cracking your dash n doors.
You can go to walmart and get the armoral pack. It has all of them together
I hope I helped? :)

Im more worried about the suede/leather dash compartment. I dont know what kind of material that is and am afraid to touch it with anything

semtex 09-28-2009 09:37 AM

It's Alcantara, which is a fancy name for synthetic suede. I just did a quick Google search for "cleaning alcantara car seats" and a bunch of matches came up. You might want to do the same. One of the things I came across was something called Autoglym Interior Shampoo. Some guy said he used it in his WRX (which also has alcantara seats) and it worked great.

This looks like a good thread too: Cleaning Alcantara? - Detailing Bliss Forum

You mean the synthetic Mouse fur and the door/soft dash area of synthetic mouse skin? It's plastic not leather or suede.. Damp cloth on the inside and any good Vinyl cleaner/protectant on the out. (Aerospace 303 or Vinylex). Armorall will never touch my car...

thanks for the help guys. Ya i dont plan on using armorall anymore the streaks that are left behind are ridiculous.

Out of all the detailing stuff I use, I have found only ONE detailer that I swear by and love.
Meguiar's Direct NXT Generation® Tech Protectant

yuk, armorall sucks.

on the plastic panels i use Prima Nero (dries matte) and Griot's Interior Cleaner for the carpeting and seats if i ever get stains.

you can get prima products through amazon or
www.detailersparadise.com

Griot's products from Car Care, Detail Supplies, Garage Organization, Car Accessories - Griot's Garage 800-345-5789

if you have leather in the car, definitely try their LeatherCare Spray.
thing cleans and dries matte. very nice product. i use it on my G's seats all the time. :)

Modshack, I'm not sure if I understand your answer. I have used 303 Aerospace on vinyl dashes and door panels for years with excellent results. I use Zaino leather treatment on the real leather parts. I have the Touring/Sport Model and understand about the Alcantara on the seats and door panel inserts but I am however afraid to try anything on the dash section door over the cut out where the navigation screen would be if I had nav. I haven't quite figured out what that material is yet. Have you used 303 on that part of the dash with no staining or discoloration or other adverse affects ? Thanks

kenchan 09-28-2009 10:11 PM

i would use Prima Clarity for that area along with the LCD. it contains no alcohol and cleans very well.

for the applicator i would use the glass MF towels. :)

It's just a soft touch plastic. 303 is fine..
