Help with Cleaning Brakes
I've been using Diablo wheel and tire cleaner (the kind you mix), but it hasn't been doing a very good job on the brake dust (on the brakes). I even mix it a little stronger than recommended and spray it on before I even fill my water buckets...so it's on about 5-10 minute before wiping.
Seems to clean wheels and tires okay. Any suggestions for something stronger to clean the brakes better? I'd prefer a one product solution, but not dead set against two. |

hey man i recently
just got all new car detailing cleaners for everything inside to outside and for the wheels (especially front wheels) is good to use something strong but still safe and Ph balanced. I spray the tires, wheels and brakes down good with Sonax Wheel Cleaner Full Effect an let it sit for about 5 min. then use a rag to wipe everything down and off. on the tough spots I use a wheel brush. not too abrasive but a little more then a rag. then when I'm all done I use Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant and wax them 1-2 times. that wheel wax is amazing and the next time u wash u just need just regular soap and water. but if u need to u always have the wheel cleaner to spray on any tough spots hope that helped a little. btw get my info from here: http://www.detailedimage.com/Auto-Detailing-Guide/ |

Been using diablo wheel cleaner for some time and so far it impress me. What I do is leave it to the rim form 5-10 mins before agitating it with a daytona rim bush. For tougher stains I use megs 4-1 degreaser.

For dusty brakes, our Deep Wheel Cleaner is the ticket. Spray on when the wheel is cool and dry, let it dwell (you'll see color change as it dissolves the iron in the dust), agitate with a soft brush, and rinse clean.
