Default Headlight re clear help

Ok so my head lights are starting to get foggy (from the outside) and I need to re clear them. I watched a video and it seems to work great and I'll post it up for you guys to see if it's something you would do. I can't be driving such a nice car with crappy head lights lol

Iv used meguiars for a temp fix, it's a polishing paste but it just comes back a few days later. The car sits under a car cover so the sun isn't directly hitting it

I've got the same thing on my wife' 2012. Just stopped by the dealer and he said it was from car washing? I was like, huh? He ordered replacements for both under warranty. I guess I can look forward to this in a few years with the new ones. Good luck.

Your dealer sounded stupid but is sort of right about it. Washing is a factor but not solely the reason. He should have specified and said washing technique and chemicals used to wash it. If your car started to haze and it is only two years old, it's a defect or your Z is in a harsh environment or someone did/used something on the lense that caused it.

true that. figure out wat caused this case your lenses will end up looking like crap again after the re-clearing process.

dd's parked outdoors 24/7 for 6+yrs and the lenses are clear. my 10yr old G's lenses are also crystal clear...and obviously
my 5yr old Z's lenses are crystal clear as well.

i think people that use auto washes (including touchless and partial human soft cloth washes) tend to get this often.

Heard the meguires kit is good the issue is really getting a good uv coat on them after you clear or you will be doing it again in a few months.

54110 Infinity 4.1 Headlight Restoration Coating - Delta Kits has great reviews for a DIY.

I have this kit on hand atm but I had someone do mine for $90 with a 5 year guarantee to not fade if they do he will do them again free. This was a 4 hour good job wet sand etc.

Ahhhhh and I have a membership there... I'll definitely have to check it out. Never thought SAMs club would do something like that. I would just be worried about them messing something ELSE up like my hood, front bumper, and fenders. Rep for you!

I don't have a before pic but mine weren't too far from yours. More yellowish though.

Here is the after:

Also, the only thing I noticed was some residue from the sanding left between the light and corner of my fender. They raised the hood and taped off the edges around the entire light.

Before you commit to Sam's Club's work or anyone for that matter, ask the guys what their process is and what chemicals they use. Finally, find out what acrylic clearcoat is used. They have to make money somehow. If there is no clear coat, it will just oxidize and haze your lense again. The cost of materials and labor is so narrow you have to figure where they are going to make a penny. And don't tell me it's plain volume 'cause there is more to turning your customers.

Sound advice here! Nothing to add.
