My headlights look like the one pictured in the first post.

My Z has been washed by hand, in my driveway, with soft water and Meguiar's car soap, using microfiber towels only, since I bought the car new.

So it's not only a problem for people who use automatic washes or take their cars to a car wash.

My Z is always parked outside. I have no idea why my headlights look so bad. My tail lights look brand new.

that's odd. both my dd's are parked outdoors 24/7 and do not have this issue.

i recommend wetsanding it with #2000, then #3000, and use some polish.. like scratch-x2.0 will do. should turn out nice. GL

LOL at everyone blaming car washes and sponges. It is the piss poor plastic that Nissan use. Even in the cloudy UK I have seen 370z's start to get foggy after about 3 years from top area of the headlights.

God help those of us that in live in a sunny hot climate. They will cloud up just time when the bumper to bumper runs out. 3 years or 36 miles whichever is sooner LOL.

It's worth a shot, as it may be looked at as a manufacturing defect.

To anyone looking for a coat of UV protection after resurfacing yours, look at Opti-Coat. I've had good experiences with it.

Long overdue response. After lights were replaced I put the 3M clear on them. Lights are perfect after 4 years!!
I have put this clear coat on all my vehicles now. FYI.

It is the same clear material they use on the front end of vehicles. The Nissan dealer in Bakersfield replaced both headlights. The next weekend I went to a place and I had the clear bra material by 3M installed on the headlight. I know people put smoke tint or clear on their headlights.
I have no idea why someone would use smoke but nevertheless I had them install the clear. I do not have one ounce of yellow on the headlights.
By the way, I also have a 2017 GTI and 2017 Ram 3500 that I have also used this clear material on the headlights.
I'm pretty sure I won't have any problems for years to come.
By the way, I'm not promoting any product. I'm just saying what worked for me. I hate to see this yellow crap on headlights because of bad plastics used in the fabrication of headlights. Good luck.

my 2009 is starting to get a golden "glow" so I bought the turtle wax "headlight restore" kit and I only use the white polish about once a month. The orange/oxidized plastic comes right off with the white towel I use it's like an orange stain.
I'm happy with it and as long as I keep up with it they look amazing.
2009 amazing, mind you!
