That's the thing about bad jokes. Not often repeated.

Yes, I have several times.

Have you ask your wife/girlfriend to beat their feet off before getting in?
Yeap, I am guilty as charged.

Have your girlfriends ever had a name for you that pertains to your clean
issues?

Yes, My nickname was Mr. Clean for a while and I am not bald.

Post up some of the crazy things that you have done due to your cleanliness issues. It's all in good fun.
1. I don't understand the rain thing. That just seems like a waste of time to me. Being my DD, I drive the Z in the rain, but I don't always have the time to QD afterward

2. I replaced my mats with some rubber ones that protect the carpet. I can't think of a time my passenger has ever had excessively dirty shoes.

3. No nicknames that I can think of. However, I am a 2nd generation dishwashing award winner

I don't have the time to be over the top with cleaning a daily driven Z. However, I have learned a ridiculous amount about detailing cars (many thanks, Junkman!), and I have purchased hundreds of $$$ worth of detailing products since purchasing the Z. I have 2-step hand polished almost every panel on the vehicle more than once and thoroughly enjoyed it. My goal is to keep the car where I can clean her up without too much effort.

Last weekend, I removed and cleaned my throttle bodies. It had been a while since I did a real engine detail, so I removed, cleaned, and dressed every piece of trim and hose in the engine bay. I helped two other forum members clean their TBs as well, and I have to say, it was satisfying to see my clean engine bay in comparison to theirs (one with more miles and one with fewer miles). It would have taken me far longer to clean my engine bay if I let it get that dirty.

on my dd i use polymer sealant and waterless wash to clean just the panels that get dirty.
and run gunmetal wheels so i only dress the tires.

rain is enough to wash off most of the dust, if not just blast it with hose water and blow dry.

to normal people my car is 'always spotless.' so that's good enough for me. rather spend my time on other things.

My car is nasty. The wonderful afternoon thunder showers have set in. It just might be a wash in the rain weekend.

My Z is a garage queen. When it gets a little dust on it, I use Quick Detailer from Stay Fresh Car Care.

I really need to invest in a car cover! anyone suggestions?

I had a 2005 Acura TL and was black, I loved it clean and hated it when it got dirty. I' spent many days cleaning the vehicle but now that I have a Gunmetal Z love the fact that it looks clean even when it's not so I thought I had OCD but I don't ...BTW I also had a Jeep Rubicon and a FJ Cruisser and both looked great with mud on them, weird uh?...can't wait to see how it looks this Winter as I'm planning on driving it...pics to come

Safe Scrub Bug & Tar Pad can be used on glass, chrome, vinyl, fiberglass, paint and clearcoats—100% safe when used with soapy water.
This might sound a little skeptical but trust me it works! When it comes to getting bugs off of your Z, use a dryer sheet (like the one you throw in the dryer with your clothes). You would think it would scratch the paint, leave swirl marks, but it doesn't and the bugs come right off with no problems. Just be sure to dip it in some water first. I've been doing this for years with many different colored cars. As far as the clean OCD thing goes, my ole lady tells me all the time "I wish you cared as much about me as you do your car" and "i wish I as much attention as your car gets" haha
