Default Is Touchless Car Washing Good or Bad? Step In!

Hey boys & girls! Another "brutha' in his garage production" coming your way!

This time I talk about the pros and cons of touch-less car washes. A lot of people think that touch-less is always the answer but as I make clear in these videos, it is not always the best route to go. There is nothing wrong with the touchless car wash process itself, it is what is done after the wash that will make or break your paint job.

Let me make sure that everyone understands that in this video, my car was driven in a light downpour. For someone who drives in a normal or heavy downpour, your car will have a much tougher film of dirt on it, especially if you allow it to dry in the sun. This film is what will create those nasty swirls over time if you continually address them wrong.

With that said, let's get to the videos!

I completely agree with the junkman on this. That being said i still use it to get a majority of the top salt off my car and off the undercarriage.

However I will add that normal sealants and waxes (other than 22ple and opti coat) I notice become stripped after about 4 washes through the touchless car wash.

That's because of the high temperature water and harsh soap that they use. Yes, it will strip wax.

Just thought I'd give another visual. My Winter beater has not been washed in probably 4 weeks. Went through a touchless car wash. This is what was left after

Cleared a bit of dirt off with finger. DON'T DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gents, FYI ... The plastic fuel door does not mix well with high pressure drying/high pressure water. If you go into touch less car washes and mistakenly unlock the car or open the door to pay and forget to lock it you will run the risk that the pressure will open your fuel door and rip it off your car and possibly cause further damage...
