clear bra before sealant?
If I apply paint sealant on a new car, will that be wasted effort if I then have a clear bra installed a few weeks later? Or should the clear bra be installed first, then paint sealant applied?

Sealant first, bra second.
It depends on what sealant you're using as to how much of a waste both would be. I'd just do Opti-Coat and call it a day. |
I would put opti-coat 2.0 on both before the CB install and on the CB itself. It will bond fine with the plastic and many clear bra installers have reported good results in regard to weathering when it comes to the bra.
As far as under the bra, I personally don't mind a little extra protection between the factor clear and the bra itself. I would not use anything other than a resin-based seal between the hood and the CB. |

the installer will use alcohol to wipe off the sealant around where the clearbra's edges are to minimize peel up. :) then give it a week and apply spray sealant/wax over the clearbra. :D |
Thank you for the responses! :D
By the way, how do I know a sealant is resin-based? |
