Default Headlight minor swirls/scratch removal help.

I have some minor swirls/scratches on my healights from the time I removed them to paint the housing and shrouds. I have a Meguiars headlight restoration kit that comes with a buff pad microfiber towel and plastic cleaner/polish.

Would this do the job? I noticed the bottle stated not to ise on coated plastics. Are our headlights coated?

I used that on mine when I made the stupid mistake of using a pot cleaning sponge and water to get some silicone off my headlights. It takes alot of time to polish it to get it to where you want it, but it does work and now you cannot even tell I scratched them.

My headlights are staring to get that yellow smoke look.. What's the best way to restore them? Prevent it in the future?
