time management and just plain laziness
 

My car got back from the dealership a few days ago and they washed/swirled my paint after i told them not to... pretty pissed but not much i can do about it... Ive spend countless hours and $$ buying the right products to take care of my paint to the best of my abilities and one wash just fuking ruined all my hard work.

so, I went to wash my Z last night after work before my date and since the wheels were clean, there was no need to wash them, i just hit them with some detail spray when i dried my car.

It took all of maybe 20mins start to finish and WOW....it normally takes me over an hour. so, i came to the realization that the majority of my time is cleaning the wheels. I also realized just how much i hate cleaning my wheels.... now, in pursuit of continuing my laziness and taking out the least enjoyable aspect of washing my car. is there any wheel cleaner out there that doesn't require scrubbing the brake dust off? sonax maybe?

As far as wheel cleaning, a couple things to keep in mind...ceramic pads are your friend. They really reduced the amount of dusting I had. A good sealant on your wheels is important to keep, so that when it does come time to clean, it's super easy and pain free. Adam's Quick Sealant is hugely popular for just that....protecting wheels. There are cleaners out there that are quite potent for your wheels. Two schools of thought...use a harsh cleaner everytime, and re-seal/wax every time, or use as mild cleaner as you can get away with, (for me usually a mixture of Adam's Car Shampoo and water in a bottle with a foaming sprayer), a step above that Adam's Green Wheel Cleaner (slightly more acidic), or a total degreaser like Adam's All Purpose Cleaner (4x stronger than your off the shelf all-purpose cleaner.) Sometimes you will need to agitate the dirt from the wheel, using some sort of Brush that is safe for your wheels is a good idea also. Adam's also sells a great set of tools for the back barrel in the Turbostick or Wheel Woolies.


In this case, Adam's All Purpose Cleaner was the answer.
