Bought a sheepskin chamois, should i give it a wash before using it?

It's a sheepskin chamois with 100% fish oil. Should I give it a wash before using for the first time or is it good to go?

Haven't used one in years, strictly microfiber now as I don't like the bits that come off a chamois.
I seem to remember you're not supposed to wash them or wring them out by twisting too hard.

yea nm, found the directions on the inside of the packaging...washed it. they have tanning oil and stuff that can still be on them so u gotta wash them with warm water and mild soap
