How long after painting before I can wax/glaze?
Did a quick search and nothing jumped out at me...
-The new parts obviously don't need waxing but the rest of the car does and I don't want it to look mismatched. -Car was painted on the 18th/19th of July. -I live in Maryland and it has been hot as hell. Doing a show on saturday and want her looking her best but I was told not to wax it for 30 days. Obviously if I do decide to wax it, I will do the wax/polish/glaze/buff by hand and not use my orbital. |
Ok welll Friday will be ~22 days so I'm gonna go ahead and assume I'll be good to do a gentle glaze and polish at the very least.

Someone had told me 30 days as well but 22 is close enough I say lol

Got mine back from the smash repair and they said no paint protection or polishing can be done for 6 weeks....... feels like 6 yrs lol

This thread from autotopia has some good info on this subject. Google is your friend :)

Thanks, so the short answer is "conservatively speaking, 10-15 days"

I was wondering this too as I get my Z back tomorrow from the bumper being repainted...
I was going to wait an easy 2-3 weeks before washing and waxing... if you are at 22 days and counting it should be good to go by hand. |
