Bee Poop? Help removing..

Ok, so while waxing last night I noticed some spots in the correct light that look almost like scratches. Then with a closer look I notice that it is some sort of residue around a yellow dot that i cannot get off. I have read it could be Bee Poop. Clay Bar wont get it off. Anyone have a fix for this? Maybe a bug and tar remover but i typically havent liked to use those since I think they are harsh. Anyone suggest a good one or alternative?

It might be rail dust. Try Aquartz Iron cut.

What exactly is rail dust?

It's iron deposits that sticks to the paint. It looks like tiny dots. It's pretty hard to remove, even with a clay bar if it's embeded in the paint. The Aquartz dissolves the iron without damaging the paint. Detailer Domain uses it all the time and I use it once a year while doing a full detail on my car. Very effective....it kinda smells thought.

No it's bee poop. I have it on my car as well. This product supposedly lifts what looks like a yellow stain off the clear coat. Let me know if you use it before I do.

http://www.amazon.com/32oz-Optimum-R.../dp/B000E9TS6O

Read about someone using it on MyG37.com when looking up how to get rid of yellow dots. No idea why that supposed to work better than any other car soap. I am going to wash my car before ordering anything that is supposed to get it off.

The only thing ONR will do is leave streaks. If clay can't lift it, ONR sure as hell won't.

The clay can't get to it because it's probably below the surface.

speedfreek 07-10-2012 02:22 PM

Yea I wasn't sure why they said to use ONR. Seemingly all it is car shampoo. Maybe they meant to use it for the clay lubricant part. I just want to remove the yellow spots left from the bee doo doo. I am going to wash it this weekend and clay bar it. Hope that removes it.

kenchan 07-10-2012 02:49 PM

bee poop in my area is a dark brown/black dot. it insanely sticks to the paint and stinks when you try to remove it. :ugh:

sometimes after the poop dries in the sun, the only way to remove it is clay or polish.
i recommend removing it asap if you have a lighter colored car as it does stain.

blackcherry20 07-10-2012 02:52 PM

:confused:I had no idea sucha thing even existed. :eek:the things you learn on this forum....
(more to worry about)

Exactly why I started the thread. I used a Pinnacle clay bar last night and had no luck at all. Ive read that maybe this clay is too soft. I think id rather try a bug and tar remover first, then rewax the area before trying a harder clay. The last thing I want to do is screw up the paint...

The bug and tar remover is pretty safe for the most part. I use 1Z einszett Anti-Insekt. If it's deep enough where a clay bar can't get it, I don't think the b&t remover will either. Worth a shot though.

Pelican170 07-11-2012 09:03 AM

Yea, i went to the local auto zone and bought turtle wax bug and tar remover. It took off only a little of one of the spots, after a lot of scrubbing with a microfiber towel. Still not fixed totally. I think im going to have to polish it and then rewax to get rid of it at this point...

Cmike2780 07-11-2012 09:52 AM

I would really give Aquartz a shot. Polishing isn't going to fix it. Can you post a picture?

Pelican170 07-11-2012 01:27 PM

Really? i would have though polishing would get it off. Im almost positive its bee poop... I doubt i would be able to take a picture. The only way you can see it is on a certain angle with the right light. Pretty anal really but it bothers me...

Pelican170 07-11-2012 02:15 PM

I bought a compounding pad and a polishing pad for my D.A. along with Meguires 105 and 205 polishes. If these dont fix the issue, i give up lol

PaulZ370 07-15-2012 06:22 PM

I got one on my car today - little poop looks like a small string. When I removed it with the use of a detailer spray, a yellow stain was left behind. I got out the Ol' McGuire's Cleaner wax and buffed and buffed to no avail - I am insanely anal as well and that is just p**ing me off - it's pretty hard to see but I know it's there, and on a Brilliant Silver Metallic it shows if you know what you are looking for and where... I'm going to keep monitoring this thread see if anyone has any luck with whatever compound that might be out there... Jeez...

kenchan 07-16-2012 10:51 PM

not sure if you want to be spreading the bee poop all around the paint, pelican...(?) it's nasty stuff.

i would use a short strand MF towel (or foam pad) and spot polish to remove the bee poop. then take your pad and polish the entire panel.

I would leave it alone if 105/205 doesn't remove it. If it's anything like bird droppings, it's probably acidic and deep in the clear.

yea, i feel like its on top but not sure. havent given the polishing a chance yet.... soon enough though.

speedfreek 07-18-2012 10:21 AM

I doubt he will be spreading it around. I got mine off as soon as I could with a microfiber and spray polish. It left behind a yellow stain which is what Pelican is trying to buff out. If he had a good coat of wax already on the car he may have success. But if it was sitting directly on top of the clear I fear for the worst that it stained deep into the clear and is permanent.

I thought the same regarding the wax - My car has a good two layers of McGuires Carnuba wax on it... the yellow stain is very faint, but there. Whatever this Bee Poop is, its like from the movie Alien - I keep looking around to see if Sigourny Weaver is gonna pop up in my garage ... Hopefully in her white undershirt and panties... :ughdance:

Got the EXACT same problem. It's from bees or insects. You need to carry detail spray and remove the stuff ASAP whenever you find it. It's worse on light colored cars. If anyone has a fix please post it here so I can get the #$%&@!! spot off my hood.

I had this issue too and couldn't for the life of me figure out what it really was. Little smeary yellow dots that are a bastard to get off with detail spray. I arrived at the conclusion that it was either tree sap or tree pollen.

JGreenwood07 09-26-2012 09:44 AM

I've had this problem as well on my brilliant silver. I do believe that over time (1-2 weeks) the stain will dissipate and eventually disappear. I had a couple on my hood when I first got the car that eventually went away.

I just recently got a couple more, and will keep my eye on them.

Have any of you with this issue noticed the spots disappearing over time?

Yes, they do seem to go away with time. When I first noticed them, i tried everything and couldnt get it off.. After a while, its just gone...
