I use a variety when I do wax my car (only a few times a year) but coincidentally I just saw a consumer report for wax and (at least for mainstream brand wax) Meguiars got the highest rating, followed pretty closely by Nu Finish.
I actually just used Nu Finish a few weeks ago cuz I had a bottle laying around.. and I was quite satisfied with the result, although I don't really have anything to compare it with. I only got my car a few months ago so it was my first wax job hehe |

I've used Swissvax for the last couple of applications. Really good stuff, but pricey. I've used Adam's Americana in the past and yielded good results also. I like Meg's polishes, but their waxes are only okay.

Your choice of "wax" or last step product should be largely dictated by what your priorities/goals are with the product as well as the 'life' your car leads, the color of the paint, budget, and desire to spend time working on the cars finish. Is your car a daily driver or weekend toy? Is it garaged or kept outside? Do you enjoy detailing or would you prefer to keep it low maintenance?

It is my daily driver and has no garage. I baby it though and bathe it at least twice a week. I do not mind detailing but do not want to spend the whole day doing it. car is going to be in a show though on Sunday so Saturday is the detail day!! |

Swissvax for me too...I use the Glacier Swissvax for my Pearl White. So far the best wax I've ever used out of several different "off the shelf" types (Meguiars/Mothers/Turtle/etc) you can buy in stores.

The problem with the spray stuff is that usually it doesn't last as long or doesn't produce that 'deep' shine from a high quality paste carnuba. It's okay, but you probably want more than 'okay' for a car show.

One of the more popular combos with our customers is a base of Quick Sealant, then they'll top that with Americana before a show or event for a little added gloss.

What would you suggest for a new car that will be mostly garage kept when not driven, not a daily driver and stored in winters (Canadian winter)? Thanks |

I don't have any good input on wax (I'm actually trying to find someone local to do a good detail job), but I'm pretty sure searches using the forums have to be 4 or more characters. One way around this is to just use Google and add site:the370z.com to the end of your search. For example if you enter "wax site:the370z.com" on Google you'll come up with plenty of wax threads.

When it comes to 'show shine' this is the most popular kit with our customers: Adam's Premium Shine Detail Kit
