Smile need some advice for a new car

ok, im done with carnuba, it doesnt last. i wanna try some macguire's nxt SP, or something along those lines. i know that old waxes / polish must be removed first, so here is my question. if the car is new, would i be correct assuming that there is no wax on it from the manufacturer or dealership? i would rather not use dawn on my car if i dont need to. should i just clean the car and claybar where i need to then apply the product? i never used this stuff before so i have no idea what im doing. i plan on viewing the sticky, but i need to know if i have to do the wax removal thing. water beads off pretty good as it stands right now, more so on the side then the top and hood of course, but i doubt anyone actually applied a polish to an unowned car. please help, thanks!

The first thing you have to understand is there are different grades of carnuba waxes and pastes.

If you are using a carnuba wax that you buy at a car store your probably not going to get a long last coat.

If you use a product from griots, adams, or chemical guys, their carnuba waxes are much stronger and will last a lot longer.

The other thing you have to keep in mind is where is your car located. If it is outside all the time like mine the wax is not going to last as long.

The next step would be to go to a sealant that will normally last a lot longer than carnuba.

I would skip the meguiars and mothers stuff and go to some good stuff.

I use adams and griots, both make great products.

To remove your old waxes, you can do a dawn bath than to make sure you have a good base clay your paint.

Synthetic waxes are going to give you that "wow" factor over longevity. That being said is you go with a synthetic sealant they are made to last much longer than even natural waxes.

If your car is beading when wet than you have some type of wax on it. I would do a dawn bath. Than use a plastic bag over your hang and gently rub the surface. If it feels in any way rough, you need to clay. If it is smooth to the touch you can go right to your polishes and waxes and sealants.

I have not yet used griots waxes however I have used other products and like them.

90% of my products are adams. Yes they are going to be a bit expensive however your going to get quality. The one thing I hate the most about adams is their shipping prices. Which are out of control!!!

1st purchase

2nd purchase

4-5th

I have been doing detailing for about 5 years now in addition to car audio, and I just recently started getting really serious about swirl marks and thinks with the purchase of my first brand new car.
