Cleaning Aluminum Wheels..

Hey Guys just got some Volks... I was wondering what most of you used to clean Aluminum wheels so that they don't get damaged. Anybody used Meguiar's Hot Rims Aluminum

Default Cleaning Aluminum Wheels..

Hey Guys just got some Volks... I was wondering what most of you used to clean Aluminum wheels so that they don't get damaged. Anybody used Meguiar's Hot Rims Aluminum wheel cleaner?

Only soap and water on my volks

any particular soap? what about tires? I only ask because i dont want to use anything on the tires that would damage the wheels?

I mostly use chemical guys products.

try this stuff used this until I painted my wheels, cant use it anymore because its cant be used on coated surfaces, but it should work good on your volks. should be available at wal-mart.

I use Meguiar's Wheel Brightener:
Meguiars Wheel Brightener 32 oz.

no special cleaners for my wheels. i use car shampoo (Griot's CarWash) with a boar's hair long-handle brush.

then after rinse, sprits PrimaHydro into a soft paper towel and wipe wheels dry after blowing air at it with my shopvac to remove most of the water.

Agreed. Aluminum is best treated with a pH neutral soap and water... no harsh cleaners. You risk clouding and discoloration on high end aluminum wheels.
