Did you try using a microfiber drying towel after the wash to dry it? I get those spots sometimes if I don't dry properly.

Should of just asked that, as far as I know if you rinse, wash, wax, and dry correctly you shouldn't get water spots.

not sure how true this is but i have heard that not having the correct water to soap ratio can cause this.

I have the same problem, I have had my car waxed 3 times by professionals in the last 2 weeks. Its from acid rain, and it will not come out. They have even done high speed waxing....

what is high speed waxing?

I want to say someone from AZ mentioned that yall have really hard water so if you ever rinsed your car just to get dust off and left the water to dry this could be the problem and will probably require a very light buff. I was dumb and it has been very hot here and i didnt want to do a wash so i just rinsed and now i have some hard water spots on my hood that a good wash was unable to remove that i am going to have to remove when i do a full detail this fall.

It's from hard water drying on the car. Not easy to remove, but sometimes it goes away. Blame it partially on the crappy paint. I find that spraying a light mist of detail spray while the car is still wet before drying helps a little. Clean the area as best you can and let it sit for a few days before trying any polishing. Clay bar might work, so I would give that a shot also.

Never wash your car during direct sunlight exposure. Water spots are pretty much guaranteed if you do. Best time is early morning or late afternoon.

Don't wash/rinse with well water either... for the same reasons, it is high in minerals that cause spots almost instantly.

If you haven't waxed over the water spots, you can use a M.F., or terry cloth towel with vinegar. You will need to wash the car after you do this. Works great on windows if you end up with water spots. I'm sure that there are other methods, this just has always worked for me. (I have really hard water) RP

Polishing will remove those water marks.

I'm not going to pretend I know how to get these out, but if you search autopia's site you will find information on using a vinegar/water mix prior to polishing (compounding with appropriate product) on mineral spotting. I have not tried it, nor do I advocate it. Just passing along the info of what to search for...
