Paint spots on paint
Bought new 370z in jan.. Black cherry. Landlord at office had ceiling painted in garage. I now have scores of tiny white dots on paint. Tried removing with clay bar. No effect. Tried small out of sight spot with wd40 and paint spot came off after letting sit a few seconds. If anyone has a solution I would be grateful. I think the paint is oil based. I really dont want to coat the car with wd40 or bug and tar remover.

Acetone should work without maring the paint and since you have to go that route go ahead and clay bar again and followup with a good wax.

Your landlord should have insurance... I would consider filing a claim to have it professionally taken care of.

:iagree: that may work too.

I would try dish soap. It's gonna strip all the wax off, so you will have to apply a new coat(s). It's probably safer than wd40 though.

claybar is good but if it doesnt work... i would try WD40 + plastic razor.
worked for me when wife drove over yellow lines on our old black car we sold years ago. then wash with either dish-soap or Griot's PaintPrep and then re-seal or wax. :) that is a insurance claim for sure. get a check to pay for your work. |
I would try Klasse all in one or some other type of cleaner wax with a poilisher... or even by hand.. you are going to need some sort of chemical though. I wouldn't worry to much about using WD-40 though... I believe it's quite safe.
