For those of you with hard town/city water..
I ordered one of these http://www.purewaterproducts.com/img/gh104_1200.jpg and a filter for each one... it was a total of 80$ as well as free shipping. The filters can be cleaned with salt water overnight and basically can be used forever but have to be cleaned after a certain amount of water has been run through it.
Just thought i'd give everyone a heads up in case you might have been looking for something like that as well. The water here is soooooooooo bad it leaves horrible mineral deposits |

I've had this set-up for I guess 4 or 5 days. I personally think it does much better. The paint looks "softer" after a wash and dry, but that could always be the placebo effect too I suppose lol.
Our roomate has lived here for about 8 years and he, like I said that the water runs off of the car better. Again, could be placebo, but if there are less deposits, then perhaps it is helping to run better... makes sense I suppose. Everyone that lives here however DOES agree that the water now has no odor as before when it was very just... well it stunk. Anyway, After about I believe it said for the 2 filter setup I will have to soak the filters in salt overnight... no big deal. The salt was 7.00 at Lowes for a 40 lb bag. Overall I would have to say at the very least it works better than it did and when it comes to a cars finish, that's always better. |
