Paint or baked on junk?

I just bought my 09 370z from Carmax a few weeks ago and upon doing my first wash/wax today I noticed a couple of 1" spots on the left-side of the car that look like this.

Does this look like a botched paint repair job or is it gunk/bird crap/gum baked on?

Either way any idea on how best to attack it without ruining my paint?

Maybe a pro detailer could get that removed?

Good idea, I'll try to find one in my area and see what they say. It came from the dealer like that so I might also try ringing them too.

Looks like etched paint from bird crap. If you can't get it off with clay you can try some polish to smooth it out but new paint will be necessary. Bird crap gets under the paint some times depending on wat the bird ate.

Time to clay and polish. It probably wont all come out but chances are a medium abrasive polish will help.

I had a similar situation recently -- you may want to try some meguires cleaner wax. just be careful on what applicator you use so that you don't scratch and then have another problem to deal with. This is the only stuff that worked for me. Good luck
