I keep mine spotless. If you keep up with it by using wheel cleaner about every 2 weeks you never get that built up gunk. It just hoses off easy, never more than a minor pass with a brush. Even my truck and my wife's daily driver get spotless wheels.

BMWs have notoriously dusty stock brakes... I swear you can clean the wheel and before you're out of the garage they're coated in brake dust again LOL.
