Premium tire dressing recommendation?
Hi Junkman2008,
You have discussed in detail in regards to taking care of one's automotive paint. You do an excellent job in that area. But I have a question in regarding to tire detailing. What tire dressing do you recommend for the best looking results? I look at other vehicles and even well-detailed ones and see a lack of tire cleanliness and detailing on their part. Or, if I do see an individual tires detailed, I see the super high-gloss, greasy, plastic-looking, and shining effect look. Your thoughts? Thank you, Samuel P.S. I seriously feel that you should write a book, in regarding to automotive detailing and also include a demonstration DVD. You ought to write a draft manuscript and send it to some of the book publishers and see what kind of response you will receive. I "promise" you as long as I still have a decent job, I will certainly buy your book at my nearest Barnes and Noble bookstore, or direct from your publisher. In summary, please do think about! |

Hey Samuel, thanks for the kudos but there are a ton of guys who know more about this stuff than I do. This is just a hobby for me. It's also therapeutic.
As for tire dressing, I am a fan of Super VRT. The reason is not because it is a Adam's product, but because it is a outstanding product. It goes on like a lotion and makes your tires look black, NOT greasy. It won't sling up on your rockers or fenders because of the consistency of the product. Even if you did get some on your fenders, it won't stain them because it's water based. Last of all, if for some reason you don't care for it, you can send it back for a full refund. It actually cost you nothing to try it. Here's some on my tires:

Hi Junkman2008,
I really appreciate the information on suggesting that I try using Adams Super VRT. Not only are your wheels and tires detailed to perfection, but that paint on your corvette is slamming! Could you please post some additional pictures of it from different angles? What year and model is that? Do you have a removable top (targa top)? In summary, do you have a problem with dust buildup on your tires and inside of your wheel wells from using Super VRT? Again, thank you for your suggestions and comments. Thanks for the kudos.
SuperVRT is not greasy so it doesn't sling off the tires. It comes in a lotion type base and you can use anywhere from a little to a lot, although using a lot will make your tires shiny. Rubber is meant to be black, not shiny IMHO. It in no way creates dust that ends up on your tires. The car is a 2001 Corvette Coupe. I'm the second and last owner as I never plan to sell it. I do all of the work on it from the interior to the engine and body. I don't trust anyone else working on my car although it takes me 3 times as long to do anything compared to a real mechanic. Here are some more shots.

Hi Junkman2008,
You have a beautiful well-detailed vehicle! Your door sills and jambs even look good, too. I really appreciate you posting those pictures. Thank you, Samuel P.S. The models are really nice! |
