Thumbs up Swirl Marks Be Gone: before and after pics

So yesterday, I hired Scott from Scott's Detailing out of Arlington, TX to get rid of the nasty and filmy swirl marks in the paint. The paint looked so bad in the sun. It seemed "cloudy" and flat from basically all angles which made the black cherry look cheap and very bad. The only time I was actually happy with the car's appearance was during an overcast. Besides the few cloudy days we have here in Texas, the paint looked like absolute rubbish!

Scott did an amazing job. It took him about 5 1/2 hours to finish the car. I found him on Autopia.org's web site as a sponsor and detailer in the DFW area. He posted pics of the car there. The paint looks absolutely beautiful now. It has a deep and polished look about it. I could not be happier with the results. And I highly recommend hiring Scott for anyone wanting to remove the "dealer installed" swirl marks from their cars.

Before and After shots were posted here:

That guy is amazing. He is on one of the other general forums (OT), he started posting pictures there and within weeks he attracted a lot clients from that place.

Looks fantastic! Now, quickly wrap the whole car in Ventureshield so it stays like that!

nice work, your Z looks great... I've got a BC Z too, swirls and all.
It's the same as a Black car.

The swirls are just about impossible to keep away.
I've decided not to get into that fight and learn to accept them.

I agree. Scott and I talked about this quite a bit. I'm convinced now that a rinse-less wash is the way to go, along with some thick microfiber towels to keep it clean and swirl-free. He recommended that I perform a search on Autopia.org for "ONR" and "rinse-less" which should fetch a ton of information about the techniques and products used.

Thanks for the positive feedback, guys

I've been using this method with great results. I would recommend Cobra microfiber products, they are sooo much softer than any other microfiber. Definitely worth the premium price.

I highly recommend ONR. I have been using it for the last 3 years and have yet to use a hose on the Z which, as anyone who has seen my car, is 100% swirl free and looks not difference than when I drove it home from the dealer last July. The key to avoiding any marring is to work in small sections, use a good wash media, rinse your wash media to remove the dirt/debris it just picked up after each section, and using a safe drying method.

Cobra MF has had some major quality control issues as of late unfortunately, I was a fan but they have taken a hit. Check out Pakshak, Chemical Guys and Detailer's Domain as their MF offerings are higher quality for less money.

^^ could be, can't say I know too much about their manufacturing processes. All I know is my new MF wash mitt and drying towel seem to be high quality and are the softest things I've ever felt. But I'm sure there are other quality brands out there.

I agree about Chemical Guys towels, i have a few Cobra towels and a guzzler that were included in detailing product packages. ONR is very good, highly recommended.
