370z Paint Cost
I have a 2010 370z Black Cherry.
I don't like the color and I want to paint to a different color either pearl white or the 40th anniversary color. How much should I pay for it? I read threads about how poor the OEM Paint job is and I wanted to know how much I should pay for for similar quality. maybe 2000? |
Alot Alot Alot of money if you do it the right way. Remember the door jams, engine bay etc need to be painted, probably not worth it. Black Cherry is a rare color live with it and love it.

i gotta agree, a complete repaint can be expensive and sometimes not worth the trouble, you dont wanna open the door or pop the hood of your pearl white car and see black cherry all over the place, 2000 bucks prolly get you that kind of paint job :ugh2:
check out maaco if you really serious about this i guess, they usually have lowest prices for paint jobs, specially for a big company like them |
Dude. Don't change it. Black Cherry is gorgeous.
You probably won't touch a high quality job for anywhere near $2000. |
Probably $4,000 minimum for a full paint job from a reputable shop.

Vinyl Wrap for $2000 or less
Pick any color you like, and it protects the original paint :tiphat: |
black cherry is nice.. why buy a car you didnt like on the lot.
if youre gonna change it change it to something that's not OEM. |

It cost me 7000 to repaint my corvette, and most of the interior panels, like under the hood and trunk area are unpainted plastic. I would think a great job on a Z would be more like 8000.

It would be a shame to repaint the BC. Maybe you could incorporate a BC stripe with a vinyl wrap.
or sell the car to someone who would love to have the BC and get a newer car in the color you like. Between the sales tax loss and the depreciation, you will be further ahead. the wrap sounds best to me, because you might come around in a year or two and really accept the color. Another option would be to dress it up with CF sides, lip and spoiler, sides, hood. |
OP, i feel you man. I also have the BC and after buying it, I'm not the biggest fan of it. I was also wondering if it would be worth it to paint to take my 30k investment from me liking it a lot, to being absolutely in love with it. Realistically it would probably be cheaper to sell and find a different color and just take the loss. Unfortunately for me, there weren't many options near me which is y i picked the BC but after being up close to it, its a little more purple than i thought. I say just deal with it, and at the very least if you have to paint it, don't do an OEM color. Do something really unique and nice. You might as well if your going to paint it. Go big or go home. :D
everyone else, if anyone has any good ideas(pics would help) on something to kinda man up the purpley color, i would love to hear it. I also don't want to rice the **** out of it though and put sticker and all that crap on it :/ |
this has got to be the most stupidiest thing to do unless you want to restore a classic car.
they have to take all the panels off to repaint. when done, you will have a lot of rattles coming from everywhere. when you sell the car, how are you going to explain to the prospective buyer that you take the car with the best color and repaint into something else.? |
doesnt seem worthwhile, if anything, might as well trade with someone perhaps
|
I know! Paint it Black Rose! Or Bordeaux.... much more manly than that sissy Black Cherry colour.... :roflpuke2:
