Washing my new Z
I just got myself a black 370, going to wash it for the first time. Just wondering what you guys suggest I use in terms of soap, washing medium, and drying towel.
Also wondering about how to keep the Rays rims looking good, thank you!! |

YouTube - junkman2000 two bucket
Seems to be a solid system. There are a lot of threads on this, though. |

make sure you have a full understanding of how to wash the car properly with the right products and equipment before you actually go ahead and wash it. If you do it wrong you'll have swirls. You're better of letting the paint stay dirty for an extra few days while you gather all the products, then washing it once you have everyhing.

-Hose with a good nozzle -Car wash soap (decide for yourself what you want) -2 - 5 gallon buckets -2 Grit guards -2 lambswool wool wash mits (3 is better). some prefer microfiber, either are good. -several waffle weave microfiber drying towels. try to get tagless or at least just make sure you take off the tags search youtube for how to wash a car with 2 bucket method with grit guards. this should get you started. |

I just spent 300 dollars at an online store buying all the items you described Jeff, plus a few more, I am buying into the idea of an electric leaf blower like the guy in the video uses.
Thanks for all the help guys, you all have a lot of knowledge! I love this car, I hate the fact that I am away on business and cant drive it!! Ed |

Thank you for this, I'll be following this for my first wash as well. I don't have time to order from Amazon since I want to wash it tomorrow after the rain is gone - where do you suppose one gets all the products for a reasonable price? Adjustable Hose Nozzle The quick disconnect adapter he used Foam Gun 2 buckets with Grit Guards Wash mitts And what products does he use in the foam gun, etc.? Thanks again! Edit: Quote:
$300??? Can you briefly itemize what you bought at what prices? Yikes, was not looking to spend this much but if it's what will keep my paint nice then I gotta put up the bucks. Last edited by Shadax; 03-24-2011 at 11:06 PM. |
