Apex Auto, 07 STI Exterior
This is my partner's car. Prior to opening a business with one another, he was a customer of mine. Not just two months ago I did a clay and polish job with his exterior. Went to get it from him to clean it up for the varsity car meet in atlanta last night. and THIS is what i saw lol. Apparently an automated car wash went to town on his paint job. *If you have black paint, i would not recommend any automated washes for you vehicle. This particular day we were strapped for time to prepare the vehicle, although I would have liked to compound the vehicle, time simply wouldn't allow it. I Decided to go with a high speed polish, followed up with a porter cable to remove the wash scratches and holograms in his paint. I've never done this combination to a black car, simply because the variables that go into buffing a black car include extra steps. My polish of choice up to this point has been the Mirka Polar shine, which is conveniently found on the shelves at sherwin williams paint supplies, and probably other chains. Mirka has a cut suitable for 1200 grit sand paper and it's ideal for a paint correction buff job. They ran out of this.. So my plan b has been Prometheus Grey, I've done cars locally for wagenwerks a paint shop with this product, and the end result was maybe 2 or 3 small swirls to cut down with the porter cable. 2 cars i've used it on, one here, and one for wagenwerks were in time crunches so I wasn't able to work the polish as long and maticulously that I normally do..so I can imagine that the polish can finish a panel in 1 step. Anyways. The end result with both the porter cable and buffer was this. These are personal pictures I've uploaded myself, I should have more on this particular job in greater depth!
