Getting ready to clay bar my Z. Car only has 300 miles on it, but the PO must have parked the car somewhere where there was painting going on and car has overspray in spots. Other than using the clay spray lube on the car and clay bar, are there any tips you guys can give me?

Which clay are you using? Brand doesn't matter much (same factory), but there is finer and more aggressive clay.

See how easy it comes of with just lube, if it doesn't work I've heard of people using bug remover as lube.

You'll probably end up marring the paint, so be ready to polish after claying...

Its the Pinnicle Ultra Poly clay, blue bar with their Nautural balance lube spray. I am going to be putting on some carnuba afterwards, but I don want to scratch the sh-- outa the paint. Gonna do a small spot and see how it goes. I have heard of folks using acetone, or gas for removing overspray also..

That's the ultra fine clay, it might work, but it's not very aggressive.

Don't worry about scratching, just make sure the car is washed and you fold the clay often.
Marring is easily fixed with light polish. Wax won't fix it though.

Don't use all the clay at the same time, take a big enough piece and if you drop it, get a new piece.

So polish is not the same as wax I take it? Is polish like a polishing compound? Would polish only be necessary if I were to marr or scratch the paint? What would be a good polish off the shelf?, and after polish I would still have to wax? If this gets too complicated, I may just bring it to a custom detail shop and pay to have it done.

DO NOT use gas or acetone.
Both will absolutely butcher your paint. The gas will just straight eat the paint up, the acetone will dry it out drastically.

It's good fun to do yourself, the ultrafine clay probably won't do a much if any marring.

I used ZAIO to get rid of some minor marring, otherwise Menzerna's PO85RD is a great product, you would need a DA for that one though... Adam's would be another recommendation...
