Scratch on aluminum dash ...

I've got a small scratch on the aluminum dash behind the steering wheel and it's annoying to look. Do you think I could use some paint cleaner/polisher to buff it out? I'm afraid the cleaner/polisher may leave behind fine scratches.

A lot of the silver stuff is actually plastic and not aluminum. You can tell by touching it when the car is cold.

Yah, its painted plastic. If u polish it chances are youre going to go through the silver finish.

Best would be to do a overlay... i suppose...

Silver sharpie?

Yea, its painted plastic, and its thin as it tends to be on any interior... you can try to polish it out just like you would a scratch on the outside, but I don't hold out much hope it can be saved. The interior finishes are generally paper thin.
