a rock cracked my front windshield
was driving up a hill then suddenly a rock flew and hit my windshield, i couldnt tell if it came from the car in front of me or somebody threw it, but i definitly saw it coming about 5 feet away, it was a size of a quarter. it didnt look too bad from the inside, it only looks like there were 2 crack lines, but when i stop to take a look from the outside it was shattered...
do u guys think its possible to repair it? or do i have to replace the windshield? |

yea, insurance usually covers glass with no deductible. sometimes they can fill the crack if its somewhere in the middle, but that shatter/crack is on the edge and its a lot of damage. get it replaced.

Luckily, from the photo, it doesn't look like the rock damaged any of the paint on the roof. Windshield are easily replaced.

yah, that could've done serious damage to the roof.
id get that replaced too. lots of places have mobile replacement service. they can come to your house or work to get that replaced. make sure you get the oem, not the oem-style glass... |

Got mine done a month back. Make sure you get an installer that does OEM. Worth the extra if you have to pay it.

Stick a fork in it, that baby is done! Good it was only the windshield. Could have been worse.

Definitely a replacement situation... that thing got you good and just BARELY missed hitting the roof from the looks of it. Count yourself lucky. Fixing damage from a rock blow like that to your roof would have been much more costly.

make sure they are careful when removing and reinstalling the plastic A pillars, there are clips that can easily be broken.

Check out my thread: I got a rock chip in my windshield!!! . It's much smaller. So, I repaired it by Safeauto. Did a really good job. NO complain.
But yours, that's a replacement! Sorry .
