some looser reversed and damaged a bit of paint work on the rear right bumper.

theres are some deep scratched that goes into the black plastic :(

im clueless on paint stuff, can anyone help giving me tips how to repair it?

re-paint is the only option for that much damage. You can have the area repainted and blended back in, but repainting the entire bumper will yield better results.

tjlazer 09-12-2010 09:08 PM

Yeah you have to take it to a pro to shoot it. I would just have it painted and blended in. Should turn out good.

MBLAQ 09-12-2010 09:18 PM

know the time it can take? coz its my daily drive

the rough cost?

Zaggeron 09-12-2010 09:26 PM

The other guy's insurance should pay for it. Was it a hit and run? If so, if you have comprehensive you typically don't have to pay your deductible for hit and runs, acts of nature, etc.

MBLAQ 09-12-2010 09:30 PM

yeah hit n run. it was parked near the cinemas and when i went to get the car, i saw the damage ><

so my full comp insurance will cover it? its just my excess is like $1200 LOL

>_<

Zaggeron 09-12-2010 09:40 PM

It depends on your policy, but the deductible for comprehensive is a separate line than collision. It's cheap to get a low or no deductible for comprehensive since most claims are for collision.

Zaggeron 09-12-2010 09:46 PM

Actually, I just read up on this and hit and run by another car is sometimes claimed under collision (one source I read said hit and run was collision another said it was comprehensive) so your deductible may apply unless it is covered under uninsured motorist which typically has a smaller deductible

i just got a quote to get it repainted the whole bumper for 400 big ones :( im sooo sad :(

AdamsPolishes 09-13-2010 06:33 PM

That sucks, but theres no fixing that without a repaint. The lighter scratches out around the edges would buff out, but the areas where the paint is actually missing is another story. Good luck, hope you get it fixed without too much heartache.

if you were parked in a garage structure, see if security has surveillance cameras.

my friend told me to do a DIY, said it will be a learning thing.
getting some touch up paint later from the dealer. any one experienced with touch up paints?
should i use a wet sand paper to do some light sanding?

specZ 09-13-2010 09:40 PM

sorry my man... no wet sand is going to fix that. Youre going to need a repaint as stated above.

I think a good enough paint shop could blend it in without repainting the whole bumper. I had a shop do that and it came out perfect.
