I hand wash with rain x wash and wax dry a with shammie polish a couple of times per year with Black Magic Wet Shine Liquid Wax. Buy it at your local Wal-Mart its inespensive and works great my 370 is Black. Prior to that one I had a Black 350Z leased for 5 years, it looked as good as day one upon return. I keep it outside covered with a Nissan Z cover the finish its so slick after the rain the other night it had no rain drops showing after driving it to work. My only issue, it hard to get the cover on, it just slides off the side that is irritating.

That car... don't remember exactly, but I think I started around 7am and had it done by about 4pm. Owner bought it used, it was rough... interior looked like it had never been cleaned, the exterior was swirled to hell, and it had a swastika keyed into the drivers door which I was actually able to buff out!

The owner was ECSTATIC with the results. He got a really good deal on it b/c the shape it was in, but after I was done the deal seemed even better b/c the cost for me to detail it was way less than the cost to buy a similar car in less rough shape.

how much do you charge for something like that???

7am to 4pm sounds about right. I usually spend a few days to remove swirls... but mine wasnt nearly as bad as that.

That was for a friend of a friend so the pricing wasn't in line for my normal rates... but if it were just some guy that would've been about a $450 job b/c we did some pretty extensive cleanup on the inside as well.

I recently purchased the Meguirs NXT Tech wax as recommended in one of the stickied threads, the result was decent, however i did notice all the fine swirls from the dealer when they washed and prepped the car for pickup.

Im on a budget and am willing to spend upwards to between $50-$60 on a good wax that will take care of the swirls in the red paint. I will be doing this by hand. Can anyone give me any recommendations on a kit online that is pretty good? or even over the counter? ive seen this "Adam's Hand Polish Combo W/ Flip Pad & FREE 16oz Detail Spray" which seems pretty good.

Ideally i will be polishing by hand and would like something that removes the swirls, and just have some sort of protectant over it. That's it, can anyone point me in the right direction. With all the reading through these stickies and junkman's great videos i am so overwhelmed with so many options. so please any recommendations? thanks again.
I use Meguiers NXT. It is very easy to use. Removes easily by hand polishing. It lasts. The easiest wax I've ever used. AND, it's inexpensive... here in Canada, it can be had for around $15.

But for swirl removal.... dunno (I don't have any swirls).
