Dr. color chip befor and after
Today i used the Dr. color chip. the results were a 8 out of 10 in my opinion. I would recomend the product. you get oem color match, and some really neat little brushes. I would have given it a 10 but i can still see the damaged area. but i bet no one else can.:ughdance:
my 10megapixel camera on super macro cant show the damage, but i'm not the best photographer. what you get in the kit http://www.the370z.com/members/jetgu...color-chip.jpg before hood damage, this was down to metal. http://www.the370z.com/members/jetgu...-chip-hood.jpg before front bumper damage, (i think i did this removing the bumper) http://www.the370z.com/members/jetgu...ont-bumper.jpg after hood repair http://www.the370z.com/members/jetgu...hood-after.jpg after bumper repair http://www.the370z.com/members/jetgu...mper-after.jpg |
In the first "after" pic it's hard to tell but you're definitely shaky in the second. Still though, seems to have worked pretty well. Might be investing in one of these kits soon..

It works... if you have larger chips the results aren't so good, but for minor pitting and chips (the most common kind) it works great. My only complaint is one of the times I ordered a kit for a friend they missed the color match by a few shades. Verified the paint code was correct, sent it back and when we got the 2nd attempt it matched.

yeah, sorry about the pics. i guess i shouldnt have had that 3rd cup of coffee for breakfast:)

Neat -- where did you order it?
Also, if you want the OEM touch up paint for Red it's part number 999P-DSA54 |
Dr.ColorChip Custom Automotive Touch-Up Paint Kit - Dr. ColorChip: Automotive Paint Chip Repair Systems
I ordered the $49 one. that gets you the really good brushes, and looks like it should last for years and years. just remember to clean your brushes good |
does any one know the paint code for the 40th anniversary?? I know its called 40 quarts but I am thinking it's going to be a real PITA to get a paint repair kit or even a paint pen.
if anyone with a 40th has had any luck please let me know where u got it and the results you are getting! |
should be on your manufacturer label on the door jamb(b pillar/drivers side) It usually reads something like "K18"or "A23" etc.
|
Thanks I completely forgot about looking there LMAO, any way the 40th is coming up as paint code - KAV - for any one else who might be looking.
|
Anyone know the paint code for the Platinum Graphite Z ? Got a few small road kickup spots, my wife and friends can't see them but I know that they are there I know.
