Thanks to all of those that looked at my other wax thread - My Wax, Sealant, and AOI recommendations
Now on to the sprays. I love me some spray wax and quick detailers (QD). At one time I was a QD addict and had 20+ different types on hand. During that time, I also made my own spray wax, and it came out great! Thing is, by the time I bought the ingredients and put in the time, I could easily buy 2 gallons of something good. So I gave up on that and set out to find a decent QD and spray wax and stick with it. Along the way, I found these products to recommend: Category 1: QD’s and Spray Waxes for Shine & Protection Poorboy’s QD+ Finish Kare FK425 Meguiar's Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax D156 Duragloss Aquawax Chemical Guys V7 Category 2: QD’s for Shine with light cleaning ability Adams Detailer Griot’s Garage Speed Shine Poorboy’s Spray & Gloss Category 3: QD’s for general cleaning, polish removal, quick light baths to small areas. Chemical Guys Speed Wipe Finish Kare FK146 Poorboy’s Spray & Wipe So that’s a LOT of good choices! What to do? If you just want to “stock” one QD, pick something from Category 2 and you’re set. These will do it all. If you want a dedicated beauty-enhancer, and a dedicated cleaner, then pick from Category 1 and 3. I buy Meguiars Xpress Synthetic Spray Wax and Poorboy’s Spray and Wipe by the gallon. The Megs D156 spray is SO easy to use, is never fussy, and is economical. Your car will have a just-waxed shine. I use Poorboy’s Spray & Wipe for cleaning, polish removal, spit shine, bird poo, occasional waterless wash, fingerprints, clay lube, etc. Many QD's are alike, but what sets them apart is how they clean (or not) and what they leave behind (or not) in the terms of shine and protection. ![]() Last edited by MenZerna; 07-18-2016 at 04:07 PM. |
