Cool Steam cleaning the 370z exterior

In this video I'm using my Dupray Tosca to steam clean the exterior of my black 370z. I follow it along with an Eagle Edgeless microfiber towel from The Rag Company. I would say this works good in full sun, no water spots, no need for soap, and uses very little water. It's handy in the winter time if it's really cold and you don't want to chance getting water everywhere that will turn into ice. The Dupray Tosca also works great in the house for sinks, floors, toilets, bathtubs, without the need for any harsh chemicals.

Setting the wisdom of using steam on a car's paint (I could see its usefulness in the engine bay or wheels/wheel wells), I wouldn't rub my car down with a microfiber towel after washing. Too many swirls even with the best microfiber towels (especially on a black car). Blow-drying works better....MasterBlaster, or (cheaper) a leaf blower.

rather dan steam cleaning, i would use waterless washes such as griot's spray on car wash. proper soak time and lubricity.

I'm guessing you're also taking off any wax, sealant, or coating you have on the car for protection . Just saying.

Steam might work great before a good waxing but not something I would use for a between-waxings cleaning.

Of course, if whatever protection you are using will hold up to steam, then it doesn't matter.

Thank God for a heated garage with a floor drain.

I would do this if there was mold and mildew on my Z.

Kidding aside, it is overkill to use that approach but it is your Z.

The first time that I saw this years ago, I figured that it would be a dead and gone gimmick by now. I'm surprised that anyone is still doing it. Lots of level-headed guys on this forum. That's good to see.
