The melting point of both carnauba and silicone car wax is about 80◦C. 100◦C degree steam blasted at it can't be a good thing, can it?
FWIW, steam is invisible. What you are seeing is condensation. So what is coming out the nozzle is not quite 100C - but still well above the 80C figure you gave.

I'd also be concerned that, with aluminum body panels, some warpage might occur if the steam jet is left in one place too long. Anybody have that happen?
