So I picked this up to try. It worked great. Makes it easy to have a vacuum and blower in one for detailing and washing the car. The best part is its only $50.

Too big for IMO. I had a large one like that but it took up too much space in the garage and would bump other things in the garage as you move it around while cleaning. As for the blow part. Well, the thing tends to hold some dust even if you take the filter off and disconnected it from the canister part. You will blow dust all over the freshly washed car. You would need a dedicated vac and blower to keep things clean.

The filter isn't part of the blower. You never open the canister. The motor just twists off. Just used it and it worked great for me.

Nothing special here other than a unique detachable blower feature, which I have to admit is pretty cool. But that shop vac does not filter the blown air any more than a normal leaf blower ...



I bet the filter on the motor is similar to this:

Lol. OK guys, do what you want. But the blower itself has a separate second filter separate from the vacuum filter.

First, you said the filter isn't part of the blower. Then you say the blower has a separate filter. Which is it?

I would be very surprised if that $50 shopvac has a separate filter on the blower. Quality handheld air filtered blowers are like $80, and they are the size of a dust buster. Larger ones with a decent motor cost $200+ typically.

This is where it started. I was answering questions. Lol I didn't go full retard. Like I said I was just putting it out there if people didn't want to spend hundreds on a blower. I will take pictures of the vac, filters, and blower when I get home. And btw, you don't use the hose that you vacuum with to blow dry the car. This vac come with separate attachments for the blower part.

First off, I wasn't asking you for your input or opinion. I was simply putting it out there so that people would have options. SECOND.. all you have to do is check it out for yourself. A regular leaf blower doesn't have a filter at all so this one is better in my opinion due to the motor having a filter and the canister has a separate filter for the dirt.

If you want to cop an attitude about my first post, that's fine. But for the record, you did start a thread on an internet forum

But in my second post, I was simply asking you to clarify your contradicting statements about the filter. From everything I can tell, the blower on your shop vac does not have a filter. Therefore, it is no different than a leaf blower. If you're suggesting that the vacuum side has a filter that still works after reversing the air flow through the filter then you're a moron (btw that's not how the blower function works on your shop vac).

The $80 hand held blower I was referring to is in a completely different category from shop vacs and leaf blowers. The Metro Blaster Sidekick, for example.

That filter in your motor is basically same as one in a leaf blower.



It is designed to prevent larger debris from entering the motor and damaging it. It does NOT filter dust or smaller particles. But the configuration of that shop vac does prevent cross contamination of dirt from the vacuum canister.

I actually need to invest in something similar.

I normally do all my washing and detailing at my house then sneak into one of the car washes near buy and just use their free vacuum to finish the job out.
