Painting a new front bumper.
I bought a new front bumper for the car, because i don't like the twin air ducts anymore. So my question is should can i call nissan and order OEM paint. Mine code is K51 to try and match the car best as possible. The guy i talked to said he has paint and will try and match it, but my better judgement say steer clear from that. I live in the tampa area so if anyone on here knows someone or a shop please let me know. THANKS.

If your car is not garaged and has sat outside for a significant amount of time, the color of your car and the color your car was originally painted with are going to be two different colors. The best thing to do is find a reputable shop (not a shop that just does a bunch of insurance jobs), and let them do it. YOU are going to have to do the footwork on this by visiting different shops and asking to look at some of their freshly painted and finished cars. If you find flaws in the work on someone else's car, you can bet there will be flaws on yours when it is done. Since I do my own painting, I always buy way more paint than I need for such circumstances such as this. One downside to doing this is that my paint cost me $300 a quart.

Painting bumper cover
You may already know this, but one good tip I got from the shop that painted mine was to bake the bumper cover and clean before painting to make sure there no residual mold release agent which will interfere with the paint adhesion.

That's for the SHOP to do if necessary, not the owner.
