California Car Dusters
Are these things actually safe to use?
My car can sit days without being driven if the weather sucks. It can be parked perfectly clean but within a few days I get a layer of fine dust all over it. Usually it's only dust on a an otherwise clean car so I don't want to drag all the stuff out and wash it again just because it's dusty. I'm concerned about using anything that could beat up the paint on my car. Anyone here use these and can comment? Maybe some of the resident detailing experts here can weigh in on this. Junkman where are you? Thanks. 104 |

I have one and I have no issues with it at all. It works great to maintain washes in between wash cycles. The only thing is that if you have bird droppings or bugs anything that isn’t dust you need to clean them before dusting. If not it can trap it in the duster itself and just cause more harm than good.

It's safe to use as long as it's only a little dust, if there is a lot, dragging dust across can create fine scratches. I have had one for 3 years, has worked great.

love my duster. Just don't mash it in like your mopping the kitchen floor.

I make sure that only the tip of the duster touches the car and lightly drag it around.

Good advice.....I'd like to make regular use of my car cover but fearful of putting it on a dusty car. I think I'll pick one up tomorow. Thanks. 104 |

I have a $30 cordless leaf blower that I use to dry the car and getting dusts off between washes, love the thing. I actually enjoying using it and not worrying about putting scratches on the paint. The guys at the car wash always stare with envy every time I pull that thing out lol

I've used this before and I know this thing will hold onto dust particles and eventually build up. It will scratch yer Z.

anything more than dust, or pollen, you need a wash, not a wipe.

Just never had a good experience with these things. I'm anal about my car and inspect my finish with proper lighting. I wont take the risk any longer.
