someone forgot to part their Z out before trading it in!

dP3NGU1N 02-22-2014 10:49 PM

Might be the dealer's car? Baker tuning seems to be painted on the front radiator.

I think the BBK itself is worth 5k?

Wonka2581 02-22-2014 11:29 PM

thats one hell of a deal....

alphajam 02-22-2014 11:52 PM

All I can say is WOW.

DEpointfive0 02-22-2014 11:55 PM

Tells you how little the rest of our car's are worth, LOL

sledchopper72 02-22-2014 11:58 PM

I love the Houston Z crew, but holy crap... Pay someone to part it out. I bet the Houston guys would do it for free. Fúck, I'd fly to Houston to part it for him

Actually it illustrates how little value is given to modifications, especially for a trade in, hence why you part out aftermarket mods to recoup some of that value.

Unless you want to be a Debbie Downer on the Z :D

What's the lowest price they will sell it for? Is it in good condition? Thanks

equalme 03-04-2014 09:47 AM

Yeah it's definitely the dealers car. Authentic Amuse kit and apparently the very first in the states.

Chuck33079 03-04-2014 09:50 AM

Saw that car over the weekend when I went up to Baker for an AC check and state inspection. Still looks great (other than the amuse kit which I can't stand).

FPenvy 03-04-2014 10:07 AM

30K? for stg 2 TT (sadly its a gtm kit), amuse, and AP bakes? hmm lol

thats actually not a bad deal. although its probably a base underneath since the seats arent shown in the pics so cant really tell.

theDreamer 03-04-2014 10:16 AM

This is not the dealerships car, it was built by a member on here.
He traded it in for a GT-R, was not worth the labor cost to him to rip it all off, buy up OEM parts (did not have most if any), and then attempt to sell everything. The car is a base (non-sport), but plenty of other upgrades.

obviously its the dealerships car now though lol :stirthepot:

the previous owner/builder should have parted it out got his GTR mod money then traded it in.

people here would probably blow him for that amuse kit. (although i'm not aa fan personally of the kit)

Fail.

Very true, it is now the dealerships car.
Honestly, he probably would have only came out a little ahead in the end plus a lot of time/effort with selling all the parts after they were removed. Also, the tax savings by trading in the car is a nice bonus when buying a new GT-R and getting 25k knocked off the price for tax purposes.

still though selling the amuse kit and brakes alone would have got him cash fast with spring coming up for us who have cold weather and snow for a few months lol

but yes tax savings is a plus.

Yeah, but he lacked the OEM bumper pieces I believe and had the non BBK brakes on before the AP racing kit.
I understand the part and sell to get more money, but at that level of modding and taking things off and trying to locate OEM parts it can be tough and not worth the cost. Especially when dealing with body panels.

i was unaware he got rid of his stock OEM parts. that makes a difference lol

theDreamer 03-04-2014 10:36 AM

I will say this, the car is a good pick up for anyone wanting to jump into a boosted Z for a cheap price. Grab it up, do some good maintenance and get everything checked out on the turbo and you are good to go. I know he DD drove the car, but the previous owner traveled a lot so really it did not get driven much.

Therdee 03-13-2014 01:19 AM

i might take it,, but its 2009 and i heard theres problems on that, idk if its worth the travel just to check it out,, I've read all the comments but I'm thinking the brakes, kit and the hks coils, exhaust probably cost 10g+ …
