Trade only - '06 Pontiac Grand Prix

Howdy. This is my car that I could possibly be interested to put up in a trade. No sale -- trade only. Please serious offers only. I'm not in the market for a new vehicle; I'm merely interested to see if there is someone out there who would like to trade vehicles (I don't really need 4 seats).

The vehicle:

2006 Pontiac Grand Prix (bought new with 17 miles on the ODO).

Right now it has 21,6XX miles on the engine/chassis.

It has had one substantial repair: a coolant leak in the intake manifold that required the top half of the block to be taken off to repair it. $860 dollar repair, but it has been running perfectly without any leaks for over 1,000 miles since the repair. Two years ago it was also in the shop to have 3 spark plug wires and a temperature sensor wire replaced. (Stupid mice got the wires). Trivial issues that have been removed completely!

This vehicle has the sport package, which includes a dual-muffler, quad tip exhaust, the fog/parking lights, and polished, not matte, alloy wheels.
Brand new Eagle GT's on the front and Eagle LS's with about 5,000 miles left on them in the back. 35% tint all around. Two year old Autocraft Titanium battery as well. It was also aligned just two weeks ago. Drives sooooo smoothly and straight!

Oil has been checked VERY often and has been changed every 3-5,000 miles. I'm extremely anal about this car. The only visible damage on the car are a few small paint-nicks on the rear bumper. They are small and touch-upable (sorry I don't have pictures of them, but I assure you they are small).

It has always had a coat of wax on it and does not go more than 2 weeks of being driven without a wash :) The paint is in very good shape and I fully corrected and polished it in the summer of 2010.

It has an upgraded Kenwood radio with bluetooth and iPod control built in (KDC-X594), a Kenwood 4 channel amp, Rockford Fosgate Fanatic X (silk) tweets, and Rockford Fosgate surround speakers. If you are interested, I could possible throw in my subwoofer, amp, and custom home-built box with plexiglass and LED's (This is a SERIOUS bass setup from a stereo fanatic, not your everyday package).

Never been in a wreck or in the shop besides the two times mentioned. This thing has been taken care of like no other car... I love this thing, but I just want to see what is out there. I am by no means moved to sell or trade this car unless something tempting is thrown at me. Thanks guys!

You can see the paint damage on the left side of the bumper (stupid pole :shakes head: )

Wow sorry for the late reply. I don't check this thread very often...
Honestly, nothing specific. I'd take something fun to drive and not costly to maintain. This car is damn reliable, and I'd like to keep that somewhat. RX-8, Mustang, 350Z, GTO, etc. Those are probably a little nice, but you get the point of what I'm looking for. Preferably it'd be a stick as well. This is a nice car in very good shape, but it has a lot of interior space and not as much performance as I'm looking for. Keep in mind, it's no slouch, but I'm looking for something smaller, lighter, and more sporty. I really want the vehicle to be a manual as well, but it's not 100% necessary. This vehicle has good performance for it's class, and it gets up and goes (especially since the exhaust work and tune), just not as much as I want :stirthepot:

PS: MUST be RWD.

Thanks. I sense some sort of implication that I'll need the luck, which I will :icon14:
I mean a 2004 Mustang with a 5 speed and like 40,000 miles would not be out of the question in my mind. And that's one of my favorite body styles. Oh well; I'll entertain offers. Doesn't hurt to try. Maybe someone out there has a kid and now needs 4 doors...

fuct 10-11-2010 11:14 AM

2004 with 40k miles... thats def outa the question, especialy a rustang.

in tx you are guna see atleast 12-15k miles each year on a vehicle. big arse state!

fuct 10-11-2010 11:20 AM

kelly blue book has your car at 9k if you sell to a private party. trade in is about 8k.

maybe you can go from there to help ya. the more you do and put into the grad prix the more money your wasting.

speedoflife 10-11-2010 05:11 PM

I'm not putting anything into this vehicle. In all honesty, I doubt I'll ever sell this car. I'd like to keep it for a long time because it's my first car, but I don't mind trading for something that suits me better. This is just out there for fun man. I will give myself a .1% of getting what I want, but there's nothing wrong with trying. And as far as the value of this thing, I swear it goes down daily. The last time I checked this thing on KBB (when this post was created-Spring 2010) it was worth around $10k trade in value for "Good" condition, now it's worth right over $8k. It's amazing how fast the value has decreased. I'm not really trying to "go" anywhere. I'm young, I have very little money, and, as I said, this is mostly likely useless, but all I can do is try.

Precisely my mindset. In a way it's kinda a dream to keep this thing in shape enough to give it to my kid one day as a first car. That's years down the road, but it would be unique, as not many Pontiacs will be on the road in 15 years or so. But if I can flat trade for something more fun I'm game!

Im not intending to revive this thread up but just fall in love with your vehicle. The outer portion is pretty well done and i believe the tranny and the engine are working fine despite of being old in look. BTW, have you already replaced the lights?Just wanna make sure for future reference but all in all i give my thumbs up for this.
