Tire23 beware
Almost three months ago I ordered a set of SSR GT V03 rims from Tire23. I was told that it would take 10 to 12 weeks for delivery as the rims were coming from Japan. Paid a 25% deposit and sat back to wait. Along the way I read in this forum that SSR was having production or timing issues on these rims. I contacted Tire23 at about week 8 to see if everything was okay and was told not to worry everything was on schedule. Just past 10 weeks I contacted Tire23 again to get a firm delivery date. It was at this point that they inform me that the rims are out of stock in Japan and they have no idea when there will be another production date.
It is beyond me how it could take them over 10 weeks to discover that the rims were not available and not on their way. This has left me screwed as I have no summer tires for my stock 18inch rims and I was upgrading to 19's. They tried to come up with other options in the end but again couldn't guarantee the delivery date so in the end I got my deposit back. Right now the only good thing I can say is that they didn't fight with me on giving back my deposit. If you are dealing with Tire23 my recommendation is not to give them a penny until you have a confirmed delivery date. The only good news is that Ralph from Vividracing has hooked me up with a set of rims and I hope to see them next week. |

Their issue is they were not staying current with your order. Ultimately you were at the mercy of SSR. Sorry to hear.

I've used them for all my tire and wheel service and products.
Kinda sucks about the delivery time. And I'm sure I would be irritated anout it also. But theu did give you a deposit back without any hesitation. Give them another chance, they are one of the better tire and wheel places in the GTA. |

The issue is horrible customer service. There is no way that they should have taken 10 weeks to discover that the wheels were not even available. They didn't even find out that the wheels weren't coming until I prompted them on the delivery.
It should have been minor effort on their part to know the tires were not available. They took my order and my money and did nothing. Last week he copied me on the email from japan asking on the deliver and they were told the rims are out of stock and no planned production date. Why didn't tire23 check this 10 weeks ago. I could have chosen a different options when there was time. In my opinion this is horrible customer service. For those that see no issues I guess you like giving people $1000 for ten weeks getting nothing for it and being faced with a laissez faire attitude. I expect more in customer service than that. I treat my clients better than that in my business or I would have no clients. I thought people should know to be careful. |

I suggest you stop modifying your car. I recently dropped a lot more than $1000 and waited 6 months to get custom seats. I hate to say it, but unless the items you want are in stock at the vendor at the time of purchase, this is the "norm".
I'm not trying to justify their actions, like I said, it's the norm. Brutal right? I suggest buying items that are available for immediate delivery, or that are in stock.

Listen I didn't expect to get a hard time about making the my issue know, and complain about what I felt was bad service, but so be it. I didn't mind waiting the 3 Months, I objected to waiting 3 months and then being told that they don't know when or if the rims will be produced ever.

As it's been said before, they're at the mercy of the JDM company. They're a great shop man, give them another chance. Maybe they were being BS'd from overseas? A slow response is better than no response.
When their techs failed to notify me that the inside of my Falken tires began to crack, tires23 replaced my tires without even a hiccup. I think they have great service, and a little miscommunication shouldn't be a reason to bash them. Any time you order anything from japan, expect delays. HUGE delays. |

sorry to hear that. I've been dealing with Tire23 for couple years now and I got many stuffs from them: 1) my 1st set of Vossen 2) a set of Continental DW 3) a set of H&R spacers 4) 2nd set of Vossen 5) Whiteline sway bars 6) set of 4 seasons with wheels for the audi 7) Wilwood BBK 8) a set of PSS 9) Diff oil 10) brake fluid 11) MT oil 12) more MT oil (for Boomer) 13) more diff oil (for Boomer) 14) Plus most of my friends referred by me no problem at all. and their 3D tire balancing machine is exceptional. it is true that if the products very particular or special order, sometime drama could occur. sorry about the experience, but as for myself, I always recommend Tire23 to my friends |

in retail, we (i work in retail) have to depend on the supplier, while understanding your frustration, but sometimes it is not within our hands to control. to give you an example: a while ago i have to order a pair of Ray Ban for my customer, he gave me the model number and colour code, all the information needed. i looked up the practitioner web-site and saw it thus i called up the supplier (the sole supplier), on the 1st call they told me they have it in stock and it will take 1 week. explain to the customer and he placed the order. called the CS 2 days later and they told me it has been discontinued for the canadian market, i told them i just called 2 days ago and they still have it in stock. the CS explain to me they have no control on it since it is the direction from the HQ in italy. however, the CS told me he can place a special order on it since it is still available in italy. explain to the customer again and he said he can wait. called the CS again and placed the order. the CS gave me an order number too. then within the 6 weeks time we called many times to confirm the order and make sure it is on its way and EVERY TIME the CS told me it is on its way. until 8 weeks later i called again and the CS told me that particular one has been completely discontinued. I was like "", told them I even have the order number and why would they give me the order number if eventually they can not get it. the CS told me they have no control on it, when they place the order from the oversea office, the order send to the HQ in italy, and depends how many pieces left or if they still want to make it. if not, they will return the order as discontinued. and... it's not until i called them they told me it's N/A. they wouldn't call us to let us know. AND, this is the ONLY supplier we can get this particular brand, nowhere else. so... while i completely understand your frustration, on the other hand, i also like to let you understand sometimes this is not within our hands of control. i am pretty sure they wish the order will go through flawlessly and they can get the rest of the balance from you and you get your wheels happily.
