Need Tires?
Hey Everyone,
So I am thinking since the insurance company paid for 2 new tires on one side... I might as well buy 2 new tires on the other side since the wear/tear will then not be a factor. So is anyone interested in purchasing a set of 4 tires used? I will get the dealership to tell me the condition of all 4. The 2 on the left were involved in an accident and I will make sure by Nissan they are OK and not dangerous or anything for someone to put on. So hopefully they are still usable and if so, ideally I would like to sell all 4 as a set. Otherwise if Nissan says the tires are gone, I only have 2 tires really to sell (which would be front right and rear right) These are the tires I am going to need: Bridgestone Potenza Front 245/40/R19 and Rear 275/35/R19 I will check around Google to see pricing or if anyone knows of a place that would be great. Also I will be picking up my car from the shop today so will give my original thread an update of how it looks. |

I also went up in size. I have 255 in front and 305 in back right now. Next set I'm probably going to go with 265 or 275 in front and 295 in back. Tire Rack is an excellent choice for purchasing tires at great prices. There is a link on the forum home page that you should use to purchase through. They don't sell Nittos though, so I usually get mine through Discount Tire or NTB and make them price match any cheap online retailer I can find. |
Potenza S04s are going about $800 a set, about 30% less than the OEM RE050A's or the Pilot Super Sports.

Your not going to get S04s for $800 in Canada. We get screwed for pricing here, big country not many people. I've done the Tire Rack thing in the past shipping taxes duties brokerage and exchange on the $800 will push the price up and the dollar is down at about 91cents these days. I just ordered S04s from Tire23 in Missisauga for $1300 taxes in including road force balancing which I thought was a fair deal. 1010 tire was looking at $1500 plus tax plus install.

Order through Tire Rack, select an installer in Buffalo and go across the border for a day or make a weekend shopping trip out of it.

Give "wheels for less" a call in WoodBridge. No one can beat their prices.

OK so not sure if this will help anyone out in the future, but if you are looking for: Bridgestone Potenza Front 245/40/R19 and Rear 275/35/R19 (Model: re050a)
I checked the price for 1 front tire and 1 back tire (just the tire, no installation or anything) based on the companies you guys told me. All prices are with taxes and everything in. 1. Tire Rack: $680.90 USD (But you have to pick it up from somewhere in the States like Buffalo) 2. Wheels for Less Woodbridge: $871.00 3. Tires23: $850.00 |
Are you sure wheels for less didn't include installation on that price? I've never bought tires nor my friends and the price didn't include install???
|
I specifically asked for just the wheel itself - no need to install or balance or anything since my bodyshop has my car and was willing to do it.
So they said just take off $10 per tire. |
The re050a is an expensive tire. You might want to consider changing all four and going to the S04 in case you ever need to replace one again. Bang for the buck people seem to like the S04
http://ssequine.net/tirecomparison.jpg You should also check that the body shop has the proper equipment to mount and balance the 19inch rims, all you need is for them to mar up the rims. |

yea, I would never buy the re050. PS. for anyone interested in V12s, you can get a stock size set for $700+install right now. catch is, you have to drive down to the border |
LOL so I am guessing no one wants the 2 used ones I got?
The other 2 are damaged so bodyshop threw them out. |

For those who've had tires installed at Tires23, how are they with the 19" Volks? I don't want my rims to be marred :).
