Impact tools are ment for cars:tup: make sure u torque it properly and be careful not to slip up lol. But that can happen even going old school methods.

On another note:
Anyone going to the car show this weekend?

Noted.

Will use the impact wrench next time around.

I'm trying to head down to the show

zefaulter 02-14-2014 08:36 AM

I will be there on Monday if they're open

I use an impact for removal only along with sockets that have protective sleeves for no reason other than being anal. If you're using the impact for installing lug nuts, make sure to follow up with the torque wench after or use the torque sockets.

Like these,

Thanks man, I was hoping to get your input ;)

All this applies to Impact wrench. Any ideas about impact driver? They are much smaller and lighter to work but I hear they can damage threads. is that true?

Here's the deal with impact guns. If you go buy a professional grade air gun, u can set the torque properly. If u get an electric or battery impact gun, which i have, u need to be careful screwing the lug back on. There is NO torque settings. I use them to simply give the first 60psi and use a hand held torque wrench to set to 90psi .

Galeforce, where did u get that socket set??

Check out NAPA. They aren't the same quality as my Snap-on stuff, but do the trick.

The other think I have done is apply rubberized heat shrink to the socket that came with my lug nuts. You could wrap it with electrical tape, or get the plasti-dip used for tool handles.

2014 GTA Meets

For everyone running coils or lowered. Is a front camber kit needed or just the rear? Or both? Looking to budget and be realistic.

And can these be bought locally?

Sam got rid of his kit? Last I saw his car, it was banged up, he was driving on finch/yonge.

I'm lowered on swift springs and was able to get my alignment back without the other stuff. I would get the other stuff if I was going lowere though.

I'm sure you can buy the stuff locally, JRP, or NextMod. I have bought 98% of my stuff from the US. Better prices than the local shops. Mind you the dollar was at par then. I would still bet better pricing from the US.
