Why not keep OEM for winter?

He has joined the no winter driving group. I don't blame him, I am doing the same next winter

have you decided on what you are getting for wheels?

also I thought you were selling the OEMs? I saw your kijiji ad, I have been looking for a set of tires yet again........I am only getting one season on my tires currently (past two season = two sets of tires :driving:) **shrugs**

VDC off is awesome and tons of fun but leaves no treads on my tires :ugh2:

How much do you actually drive? I guess you need to change the rears most of the time, right?
I need tires too, I was planning a US trip but the exchange rate ruined my plans, prices are almost the same here

Not that much actually. This past summer I only got approx 8,000km on the rears and yes your right every time I have changed the tires my fronts were still good :ugh2:

Yes, I need 2 new Tires for my Z as well. Actually Fronts. My Rears are good. When bought the car in summer last year they were almost done...Our poor CAD $ makes going to USA to buy useless.. :(
Tire Rack had some good sales in December on Bridgestone Pole Position Tires. They look promising as a good replaceemnt

LMBmikeZ 02-04-2014 06:37 PM

depending on what your getting the prices are still most likely better in the states :ugh2:

Ire 02-05-2014 03:00 AM

the first year i got the Z, the fronts died sooner than the rears.
this year, i had a bit too much fun and ended up picking up a set of tires off an R8 a customer brought in. they were like 75% still and he wanted to change them and just left it. so i slapped them on, only to find the rears were too big (305)... im sure if i actually gave it another shot i could shoehorn them in but i was lazy (would have to raise the car so my fenders wouldnt rub) so i left them beside my garage. they're still there lol

the reason im not saving the OEMs for winter is as zefaulter said, i dont winter and i have goodyear F1s in the rear and RE05s in the front. useless anyway. i sold the whole thing for 1500 including tires. my new setup is on 18s

just talking about it makes me excited.

this was definitely not me. and definitely not my video. cough. definitely.

these... individuals were found doing bad things behind the warehouse doing things that i completely do not condone nor approve of. :D

I am pretty sure others have ran the OEM sport wheels with 305s and no rubbing :ugh2:

should try it again or sell them to me :stirthepot:

IMO the 305s looked good, I am gonna go look for the thread

yup, 305 works on stock. Although I've heard not all tires will because of the sidewall.

I'm thinking about V12. 760 is another option I can get from costco. RE11 is probably the most I would spend for tires. if you buy from US, you might save less than $100(after gas) problem is, you won't get support for them like you would if you bought locally. That's how I look at it at least.

^ agreed with zefaulter.
going to the states is no longer worth it to save a measly couple bucks

:iagree: if you are just going down for the tires

However normally I order a bunch of stuff and go pick it up all at once. Just gotta use one of those cross boarder shipping services like Kinek, then you can capitalize on the free shipping many companies/vendors offer for shipments in the lower 48.

Then you also gotta remember to bring back some of the cheap alcohol they have in the states

Amuse370z 02-06-2014 07:54 AM

I gotta pick up tires for my new 19" SLs too. I'm thinking of Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Not sure yet. I'm guessing they're gonna cost an arm and a leg, I'm definitely going with 305s in the rear.

Ire 02-06-2014 01:18 PM

lol yo kev I went 18s lol
